Review Product Safety Regulations, COMESA
For the EU-funded project “Competition and Consumer Product Safety in the COMESA Region” this Technical Assistance adresses the fragmented regulatory landscape and improve product safety across the COMESA region, through:
- conducting a thorough review of national and regional legal frameworks related to consumer product safety, certification and product-testing procedures; and,
- identifying the main gaps and challenges in the overall regulatory systems for product safety and labelling within the COMESA region.
Overall, the assignment contributes towards establishing reliable, coherent, and transparent legal frameworks that promote legal certainty and strengthen the confidence of COMESA’s companies and consumers in competition and consumer product safety regulations.
